Skilled Australians are Leaving Room For Skilled Overseas Nationals to Emigrate!

Skilled workers leaving Australia permanently has reached a record, causing an increased requirement to attract skilled overseas workers to emigrate to Australia.
A recent report from the Ausralian Bureau of Statistics (The Emigration 2007-2008 report) shows that 76,923 people, two thirds of which are aged between 25 and 54, left the country during this period for purposes of emigration. Almost half these people were in skilled jobs, while another 102,066 people who were in skilled jobs left the country for one year or more. The figures are up 6.7 per cent on the year before and a 325 per cent increase on 1985-86.

According to the Immigration Minister Senator, Chris Evans, these figures are a cause for concern, particularly when the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) is working hard to rectify the imminent skills shortage in Australia by creating one of the most advanced skilled migration systems in the world.

Senator Evans also said that his government are aware of the global demand for skilled workers, and he recognises that Australia needs to compete against other countries to attract skilled workers to Australia.

An outdoor lifestyle, enviable weather, and fewer crowds all combine to make Australia the ideal escape, particularly in these tough times with many countries suffering from the recent credit crunch, particularly the UK.

With skilled workers being scarce in Australia, more and more organisations are becoming open to sponsoring overseas nationals, with many including attraction campaigns aimed at overseas countries as part of their recruitment strategy. Now is the prime time to make your move to Australia, however make sure you use reputable migration agencies, specialists who can step you through the process and ensure your success.

When looking for jobs in Australia, you also need to put your best foot forward, and the first step towards getting any job is ensuring you have a competitive application, resume and cover letter.

There has never been a better time to relocate to Australia. Visit Nab That Australian Job today to find out your next steps for having the lifestyle that you deserve in Australia!

Making Job Seeking Easier for Migrants to Australia

Each country’s job market is unique to its culture, and therefore migrants to Australia often struggle to enter the job market in Australia, due to their lack of ‘inside knowledge’. It is not their fault – they just have not had the opportunity to learn about how the Australian job market functions, and the “do’s” and “don’t’s”, when applying for jobs in Australia.
